How to start a blog in 2023? Or how to make money through blogging?
Most search and important questions in make money ideas
simply because Blogging is an excellent way to earn some handsome income and also
one of the easiest ways. So, for beginners who don’t have an idea about what
blogging is, or how does the blog work? and how one can make money through it.
Here is the idea: Blogging is simply the act of writing and publishing ideas,
articles, opinions, stories, and any other form of writing. A blog is an online
platform where individuals and organizations share their thoughts and opinions
and promote services and products. Let’s take it step by step.
Starting a Blog
Define your Niche.
To start a successful blog, the first and most important
step is to select a niche in which you are most interested. It could be
anything you are passionate about and love to tell others about, such as
cooking, fashion, technology, games, or traveling. Determining your niche is
crucial because it helps attract a targeted audience, who are interested in
what you are writing about. Also, specifying the niche helps you determine the
main topic, title, or theme of your blog.

Blogging Platform
After selecting a niche, the next step is to choose a
platform. There is various blogging platform like WordPress, Blogger, Wix,
Weebly, and many more.
Best blogging platform to make money
The most popular platforms are Blogger, WordPress, and
Medium.
Blogger: You can start completely for free with Blogger. You
don’t need a domain name or hosting. So, Blogger is the best free blogging
platform to make money.
WordPress. For WordPress, you need to purchase a
domain name and hosting. WordPress outperforms all other blogging
platforms.
Do some research and choose the platform that suits your
needs in terms of ease of use and customization.
Tip: If you are a total beginner in
writing or blogging, I will suggest Medium because you don’t have to make a
website on Medium. Simply create an account and start writing. You can go with
the free plan, but to make money on the medium, you will have to purchase the
premium plan, which is simply $5 per month.
If you are
not a complete beginner, then my opinion is to go with WordPress, as it gives
various options. You have more control over your website. WordPress has various
features and plugins that blogger does not have. For instance, with WordPress,
you can create membership sites, monetize your content, create a web store, and
use various SEO tools for better ranking. Additionally, WordPress is more SEO-friendly
and you can customize it to suit your needs. It also has more security
features, which makes it a more secure platform.
Choose a Domain name.
A domain name is simply the address of your blog. E.g.,
www.yourblogname.com. For example, if your blog is about fashion, you might
choose a domain name like 'fashionista.com'. This is similar to choosing a
street address for your home; you want something unique and memorable that will
tell people where to find you. Choosing a domain name is important because it
will be used to identify your blog and it should represent your brand. It
should be memorable and easy to spell. It should also include a relevant
keyword to help with search engine optimization (SEO) and make it easier for
people to find your blog. Always choose a domain name that reflects your blog
title and contents or your brand.
Setting up a blog
Blog setting involves creating an account on your desired
blogging platform, selecting a theme or template, and customizing the templates.
Select a theme according to your niche. Keep your theme simple.
You can customize the layout and colors of your blog, add
widgets to increase the features of your blog, and set up an email subscription
to keep readers updated on new posts.
Selecting the right theme is very crucial in ranking your
website. Make sure your theme is
- SEO optimized
- Responsive
- Attractive visuals
- Browser compatibility
- Good mobile useability
- Excellent speed
These factors are crucial. As the content on your
website increases, the load on your website also increases and your website starts
to take time in loading which is very bad for your website ranking. Always

Create the content.
Start writing the content. Make sure your content is
engaging and provides value to your readers; enlighten them in your way. Do not
copyright content or content from AI. You can use artificial intelligence

already published content in new ways and from a new perspective. Write
different types of content, like articles, tutorials, and opinion pieces. And
go with the style that gives you the best results.

The first thing you need to do is to select a topic based on

What do you want to write about or discuss with your
audience?
Which new thing did you learn in the past few days that you
want to write about?
By considering these parameters, you can select a topic. To
understand it better, let’s say you choose SEO.
For choosing a title for your blog post, use tools like

Make it a title.
The next step is to title the topic you selected. Now the
only word you have is SEO. you can write many articles on SEO, like, what is
SEO? Beginner's guide to SEO? How do I improve my website's SEO? How do I SEO
my blog? Choose a title that is trending or intriguing to write about. E.g., you
go with What is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)? The beginner’s guide to
SEO. Always do keyword research for your title. It’s VERY important.
Research
Creating amazing and unique content is the third most
important and key factor. Do deep research into your topic.
In my case, I read articles relevant to my topic, write
about new things which I don't know before, and take notes like which tone and
style is trending.
The second step involves using Chat GPT and noting the new
things it tells you about.
Illustrations
After research, find images or illustrations that best fit
your topic. You can make your images on Canva. There are thousands of free
templates on Canva; you can customize them or make one for your blog.
Always edit your image by writing the title of your blog
post in the Alt text and title text option. It’s important for SEO.
Writing
By using your research and ideas, create compelling,
engaging, and original content that your readers will appreciate. Arranged them
most effectively and write a blog post. Used your research to back up your
claims and logically argued your points. Make sure to present your ideas interestingly
and creatively to keep the reader engaged.
It’s very important always use your research in the forms of
illustrations, charts, graphs, and pics to back up your points.
Editing
After writing the blog post, Use Chat GPT as an editor. It
will help you prevent errors. Chat GPT can help you catch typos, grammar
mistakes, and other errors that can detract from the quality of your writing.
It can also suggest better phrasing and alternative words to make your writing
more concise and easier to read. I also used the Wordtune editor, Quillbot, and
Grammarly. All of them have extensions and are very beneficial in writing. If
you don’t know how to use Chat GPT as an editor, don’t worry the above tools
like Wordtune editor are very useful and save hours of work.
Publishing
After editing and proofreading, publish your article on your
blogging platform. Make sure to add the appropriate tags and categories. For
example, if you are using WordPress, you can easily post your blog post and add
images and other media from the WordPress dashboard.
Before publishing your post, I will suggest reading an
article or watching a video to minimize the error, most bloggers face on
publishing their 1 post.
Promote your blog.
After creating content and publishing it, the next step is
promoting your blog. Promote your content on social media, and take time to
engage with readers who comment on it. Monitor the results of your post in
analytics. Building an audience takes time and effort. There are various
methods to promote your blog. You can promote your blog on
Pinterest is mostly the topmost consistent
choice of bloggers in promoting their blogs. Because it’s easy-to-use Pinterest
and it has a large organic traffic. Make pins of your blog title and simply
published them. You can also schedule your pins on Pinterest without using any
app.
Quora
Quora is a platform where people ask and
answers question and queries. It is also the top option for promoting your
content. Quora also has a large traffic and some questions that are asked on
Quora are also ranked in the Google search engine. It will help you to get
organic traffic to your blog.
Tip: if you are using Quora the first time don’t start putting
links in your first answer. First, provide content so that Quora will not that
you are not spam. Then start putting 1 link per week. After some time, you can put
links in all your post and Quora will not ban you because you have first provided
valuable content to the audience who are seeking answers.
Social media platforms
Make 100% use of social media
platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. If you find it difficult to
post on so many platforms and don’t have enough time to regularly post them on
your accounts. You can use tools.

to promote your blog. On guest posting platforms mostly you don’t earn money
for your post but it’s an opportunity to promote yourself and your work to a wide
range of audiences and acknowledge by them.
